Naval Base Ceremony at 1000 including a flyover, rifle salute, and wreath laying. KSU around 1100 and PCH to Malibu Bluffs Park. Food trucks, raffles and entertainment at Bluffs Park until 3pm.
LAFD Car Show September 10, 2023 The Fire Hogs have been invited from 10 – 3 pm at FHMTC. NE will be meeting at FS 88 with KSU at 0900 hrs . We will meet up with the other riders at Franks Place .
October 13-15 California Fire Fighters Memorial in Sacramento.
Preliminary plans for State Memorial. Leave S. CA on Thursday October 12. Take 101 to CA 1 to Cambria, stay the night. Will have to backtrack a bit on Friday to take Highway 46 to the 101. Take the 101 all the way to San Francisco, go over the Bay Bridge, and take 80 into Sacramento. We can also cut over the 152 from Gilroy to catch the 5 into Sacramento, which still bypasses most of the San Joaquin Valley. Taking the 5 all the way from L.A. to Sac kind of sucks. Take the 101 all the way home on Sunday, the 5 for those in a hurry. Highway is closed about 50 miles north of Cambria, so taking the 1 all the way is out. Hotels available in Cambria, researching now. The event in Sac is later in the day, but I’m sure there will events at DeVers and other places on Friday evening. Or stay somewhere on the road on Friday and roll into Sac on Saturday about noon. Riding up on the 12 staying (location TBD) riding into the memorial on Saturday the 14 and staying at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento 916 447 1700 for CA FF Memorial room reservation on 10/14 I was given a rate of $177 + tax under the California Fire Foundation. I wanted to pass this on about the upcoming Colorado Springs Memorial:
We have a contingency of Fire Hogs heading to Colorado. If you are thinking of going, BOOK YOUR ROOMS NOW! We will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn-Airport. Call 719 622-0300 and ask for the IAFF rate of $178 a night. If you go online, it shows the hotel as sold out so call and ask for the IAFF rooms. We will be joining the IAFF riders on the 15th for a day ride and then again for the ceremonies on the 16th. The Fire Hogs will be leaving for CO on the morning of the 9/12 from Victorville HD at 0800 hrs. first stop will be Beaver Utah 410 miles, next stop is Gunnison CO 411 miles, then on the 14th it is a 200-mile ride going through the Monarch Pass into Colorado springs. We will leave on the morning of the 17th stopping at Beaver Utah- 592 miles on the 17th and then home 410+ miles. There are lots of available hotels in Beaver and Gunnison. FIRE HOG & FRIENDS RIDE TO THE IAFF RALLY in Prescott AZ. For the 10th Anniversary of the Granite Mountain 19. It is also the WORLD’s oldest Rodeo that week in Prescott as well. Ceremonies for the Hotshots should be on the 30th, Plan on going to the National Rodeo on Saturday July 1st at 730 pm show. Bullhead River Run/Music Festival is on!
Join the Fire Hogs as we travel to the Bullhead River Run on Thursday 4/27/23. We will be meeting at Victorville Harley Davidson Thursday with KSU @0900 hrs. Many are staying at the Aquarius Hotel. Friday we are organizing a ride to Kingman Az and along the way pay tribute to Fire Hog Danny Cypert whose Memorial is along the way. We will organize a meet and great on Thursday or Friday location TBD. Saturday we will be supporting a Veterans ride. Sunday ride home.
Its going to be GREAT weather for riding.
